I’m not an ad for PRWeb I promise – I just like their work and have for years. I had someone take me up on my offer to rewrite your press release free in exchange for letting me use it as an example in my marketing. Universal Funding asked me remake theirs.

Here’s the original press release. Notice it’s not too bad. It has links (not all targeted but some decent ones). It switched voices and started using “you” and “yours” which some press release sites won’t accept. PRWeb has rejected one I wrote but then I saw this press release one which obviously made it through.

I added more keywords, some quotes and made some other changes. See the final version of the press release here. Notice none of the links made it in the final version. Instead there are links to ads. They were smart to post it to their own web site (where you can keep as many links as you want).

Next I went to Google News and same story.

Contrast that with a press release example that was submitted through PRWeb:

As you can see, the PRWeb version is much more professional. It links to other news from your company (if you submit it right) and it shows your web site along with live links to it. This is all with the $200 PRWeb level. If you want to target the top 100 newspapers and get more print coverage go for the $360 level.
